Finch Gifts
The finch family contains many of the most popular pet song birds as well as a variety of colorful wild birds. Finches, cardinals, buntings, and sparrows are all related. All finches are social and should be kept in pairs or in groups of six or more birds. Housed together, and a male and female will usually breed quite readily so you may want to consider keeping only females. In general, finches have an expected lifespan of anywhere from 5-15 years, depending on the species and dietary considerations. Both wild and pet finches eat a diet consisting primarily of small seeds. You can attract wild finches to your yard with tube feeders filled with finch blends or even pure thistle seed.
