Wild Birds
Owls make up over half of the three percent of bird species that are active at night. The Great Horned Owl is perhaps the most common of the owls with a year-round range that extends throughout the continental United States, Alaska, Canada, and Mexico. They are the largest owl found in North America.
The Great Horned Owl is the only natural predator of the skunk.
Great Horned Owls and American Crows have a strange relationship. Flocks of crows regularly travel long distances to harass these owls, screaming at them for hours at a time. The Great Horned Owls are not innocent victims, however. These owls are the primary predator for both nestlings and adult crows.
