Companion Birds
We're all for sharing human food with your companion bird, but there are some foods that can make your bird ill or even kill him. These foods include:
Alcoholic Beverages Apple Seeds Asparagus Apricot Pits Avocados Beans, Dried Caffeine Cherry Pits Chocolate Comfrey Dairy (contains lactose which birds cannot digest, and can result in diarrhea) Eggplant Fat (just like with humans, high-fat foods lead to atherosclerosis) Garlic Olives Onion Nectarine Pits Parsley Peach Pits Peanuts, Raw Pear Seeds Plum Pits Rhubarb Salt (can upset your bird’s electrolyte balance) Spinach Sugar Substitute, Xylitol Tomato Leaves Wild Mushrooms
